Anupama 20th August 2026 Written Update: Anupama Rejects Vasundhara’s Deal, Prem’s Ego Puts His Café at Risk
The 20th August 2026 episode of Anupama brings Anupama face-to-face with a difficult choice as Vasundhara tries to buy her out of the competition. While Anupama refuses to compromise her self-respect, tensions between Prem and Rahi continue to grow. Meanwhile, the upcoming finale takes an unexpected turn when Anupama suddenly loses her sense of taste.
The episode begins with Vasundhara continuing her attempt to convince Anupama to accept her offer. She tells Anupama that even if she wins the prize money, building her dream house will not be easy because her children are already eyeing the money and property.
Vasundhara then makes a shocking proposal.
She tells Anupama that she can build a three-storey house for her if she agrees to step away from the competition and give Prem the opportunity to win.
Anupama is stunned by the offer and asks Vasundhara what exactly she is saying.
Digvijay immediately loses his patience and asks Vasundhara to stop talking nonsense.
However, Vasundhara has already prepared everything.
She reveals that she has spoken to Ranvijay, who is ready to leave the house and café once he receives the required amount. She further tells Digvijay that this would also allow him to get Savi’s house and all the memories associated with it back.
The offer clearly has several layers, but Anupama remains uncomfortable with the entire arrangement.
Meanwhile, Rahi tries to cheer Prem up.
She walks behind him and tries to lighten his mood, but Prem warns her that if she keeps following him, she will have to face the consequences.
Rahi tells him that she does not want to walk behind him. She wants to walk with him.
Prem eventually moves aside, while Rahi makes it clear that winning the competition is extremely important for him.
Back at the other side, Anupama directly questions Vasundhara.
She asks how Vasundhara can possibly think that she would compromise her self-respect for a house or money.
Vasundhara argues that there is nothing wrong with accepting the offer. According to her, Anupama can simply lose the trophy and still get everything she wants in life.
She then puts emotional pressure on Anupama.
Vasundhara tells her to think about Rahi and Prem. Their relationship is already suffering because of the competition, and if Anupama wins, the situation could become even worse.
She insists that Rahi is already struggling emotionally and asks Anupama to sacrifice her victory for her daughter’s happiness.
Digvijay refuses to stay silent.
He questions Vasundhara about whether she is actually making this deal for Prem’s future or simply protecting his ego and arrogance.
Gautam immediately interferes and asks Digvijay why he is getting so involved.
He tells Digvijay to let Anupama make her own decision.
Gautam even accuses Digvijay of nurturing a snake in the name of friendship and claims that he is preventing Anupama from thinking about Rahi properly.
Despite all the pressure, Anupama remains firm.
She rejects Vasundhara’s offer.
Anupama questions Vasundhara’s confidence and asks whether she is so certain that Prem will actually win the competition.
She also asks an important question—does Prem even know about this deal?
Vasundhara calmly admits that Prem does not know anything.
She believes that he does not need to know.
Vasundhara once again warns Anupama that if she wins the competition, Rahi will be the one who suffers. She says Rahi could lose her happiness and even her relationship with Prem.
But Anupama refuses to sacrifice her dignity.
Meanwhile, tensions are also rising at the café.
Shruti threatens to shut down the café because Prem’s ego is causing her to suffer financially.
Prem becomes furious and tells Shruti to shut the café if she wants to. He regrets ever working with her.
Rahi immediately tries to stop him from saying something that he may regret later.
She asks Shruti to remain patient until the finale.
Shruti explains that she never wanted to shut the café. She loves Anuj and therefore has emotional attachment to the place, but she cannot continue bearing the losses.
Rahi then tries to motivate Prem in her own way.
She shows him the videos she has carefully selected to help them prepare for the competition.
Prem watches them but begins feeling that he might actually lose.
Rahi refuses to let him give up.
She assures him that they will win at any cost.
Meanwhile, Anupama remains troubled after looking at the cheque Vasundhara offered her.
She remembers Vasundhara’s words and the enormous pressure being placed on her.
Digvijay notices her silence and asks what she is thinking.
Anupama admits that she does not know what she should do.
The situation reminds her of the painful experiences she has gone through in the past.
She is once again standing at a crossroads—between her dream, her self-respect and her daughter’s happiness.
The episode ends with Anupama deeply disturbed by everything that has happened.

Paritosh brings food for Anupama and tells her that a friend sent it.
Anupama eats the food but suddenly realises that she cannot taste anything.
She becomes terrified as the finale is only two hours away.
Anupama worries that losing her sense of taste could destroy her chances of winning the competition.
Digvijay tries to reassure her that they will find a solution.
But Anupama breaks down and wonders what will happen if she loses the finale and her biggest dream is shattered.
Review
This episode gives Anupama a strong emotional conflict without making her compromise the character she has built over the years. Vasundhara’s offer is tempting on the surface, especially because it involves Anupama’s long-standing dream of having her own house, but Anupama correctly understands that accepting it would mean sacrificing her dignity and deliberately losing.
The Prem-Rahi track is also becoming increasingly tense. Rahi genuinely wants Prem to succeed, but Prem’s insecurity and ego are making everything harder. Shruti’s threat to shut down the café adds another layer of pressure before the finale.
The biggest twist is saved for the precap, though. Anupama suddenly losing her sense of taste just hours before the finale could completely change the competition. After everything she has fought for, the timing could not be worse.
The next episode should be particularly interesting because Anupama now has to fight not only her competitors but also a sudden physical problem that could directly affect her performance.
