Sairaab 22nd August 2026 Written Update: Ishaan Refuses To Forgive Nayanika As Their Painful Past Comes Back

The episode begins with Ishaan reaching the riverside, a place that holds several special memories for him and Nayanika. As he looks around, he recalls the moments they spent together there. The memories clearly affect him, but Ishaan tries to convince himself that he cannot keep living in the past.

He admits that the moments he shared with Nayanika will always remain special to him, but he has now decided to keep those memories locked inside his heart. He does not want to revisit them or allow them to influence his present anymore.

A couple recognizes Ishaan and approaches him, requesting a selfie. Ishaan politely refuses, explaining that he wants to be alone. The couple initially feels disappointed, but they understand that he is not in the mood and decide not to disturb him. They leave him alone.

Ishaan then starts singing, using the quiet riverside to express emotions that he cannot seem to put into words.

Meanwhile, Nayanika also arrives at the same place.

She meets Shuboo’s friend, whom she affectionately addresses as her brother. He tells her that he is currently in charge of the place and offers to take her for tea. Nayanika politely refuses and instead begins talking to him about Ujjaini.

However, Ishaan notices them together from a distance.

His expression changes immediately.

Ishaan assumes that Nayanika has come there with another man. The sight hurts him deeply, especially because he is already struggling with the memories of their relationship. He begins believing that Nayanika has moved on from him without difficulty.

For Ishaan, the sight becomes another reason to question everything they shared.

He feels that perhaps Nayanika never truly loved him. He wonders how she could move on so easily after everything that happened between them. His hurt quickly turns into anger, and he decides that he will never forgive her.

Shuboo’s friend tells Nayanika that he will bring tea for her and leaves. Soon, Nayanika notices Ishaan.

She walks towards him.

Nayanika asks Ishaan why he is there instead of going back to the hotel. Ishaan, however, does not respond warmly. Instead, he asks her how her life is going.

Nayanika tells him that she is doing fine.

She then directly asks him why he is angry with her.

Ishaan gives her a painful answer. He tells her that there is nothing left in his heart for her except hatred.

Nayanika is shocked and asks him why he hates her so much.

Ishaan reminds her of what happened between them and asks whether he deserved her betrayal. His words make it clear that he still carries the pain of their separation. He says that he is actually glad that Nayanika rejected him because he now understands that she had simply been making excuses to turn him down.

Nayanika silently shakes her head, clearly wanting to tell him that he has misunderstood her.

But Ishaan refuses to listen.

He tells her that he does not want to have this conversation with her anymore. Nayanika does not force him. Instead, she calmly tells him that she will not contact him again until he wants her to.

Ishaan leaves.

Nayanika remains behind, visibly hurt.

Shuboo’s friend soon returns with the tea and notices Ishaan walking away. He suggests that he and Nayanika take a selfie with Ishaan, but Nayanika refuses. She says that she is getting late and leaves.

The emotional distance between Ishaan and Nayanika therefore continues to grow, even though both are clearly affected by each other.

Later, the focus shifts to the family gathering.

Indrani and her husband sit together as preparations are made for the wedding anniversary celebrations. Shreya asks the priest to begin chanting the marriage mantras. Kaka explains that completing fifty years of marriage is not an ordinary achievement and says that such a milestone deserves to be celebrated.

Shreya adds that perhaps Kaka and Jaya will also get the opportunity to celebrate such a milestone someday.

However, Mini begins looking for Nayanika.

She asks the family whether they intend to avoid Nayanika once again. Ujjaini bluntly says that Nayanika does not need to participate in the celebrations.

Romeo immediately reminds Ujjaini that Nayanika still lives in the same house.

Ujjaini says that she has already told Nayanika to leave. According to her, Nayanika is staying there only because she does not currently have another place to move into.

Nayanika happens to hear the conversation.

The words hurt her deeply.

The woman who has spent so much of her life caring for Ujjaini now finds herself being treated as someone who is merely occupying space in the house. Nayanika remains silent, but her expression makes it clear that every word has reached her.

Romeo comments about the things Nayanika used to do for the family. Mini, meanwhile, feels that Shreya is gradually trying to take Nayanika’s place.

Neil asks Mini to stop the discussion, especially with everyone gathered for a celebration.

Mini questions why the family is deliberately boycotting Nayanika.

Kaka says that Nayanika should have arrived on her own.

Jaya immediately asks everyone not to discuss the matter in front of the guests and spoil the occasion.

Shreya then adds that Nayanika is not changing her behavior even for Ujjaini, suggesting that there is little they can do about the situation.

The family continues with the celebration, but the atmosphere has clearly become uncomfortable.

Nayanika, meanwhile, is left dealing with the painful realization that she is no longer being treated as an important part of the family.

The episode ends.

Precap

Malini tells Nayanika that she can stay at the hotel because Ishaan is wealthy. Nayanika is hurt by the suggestion and asks whether Malini thinks she is greedy.

Malini then brings up the day Ishaan applied sindoor to Nayanika and says that Nayanika allowing it to happen must have meant something to her.

Review

This episode keeps the emotional tension between Ishaan and Nayanika at the centre, and the riverside confrontation works particularly well because neither of them is actually over the other. Ishaan is speaking from hurt rather than indifference, while Nayanika’s restraint shows that she knows pushing him further will only make things worse.

The strongest part is Ishaan’s refusal to hear Nayanika out. His anger has become so deeply rooted that even a simple explanation feels like another excuse to him. Nayanika choosing to step back instead of chasing him gives their confrontation a quiet emotional weight.

The family track adds another layer of pain. Nayanika is already struggling with Ishaan, and now she has to hear her own daughter discussing her as though she is an unwanted guest in the house. That is a particularly harsh kind of loneliness because it comes from the people she expects to understand her.

And the riverside timing? Ishaan really chose the one place overflowing with memories to convince himself that he is completely over Nayanika. Bold strategy. Unfortunately, his own face seems to have missed that particular memo.

Rating: 4/5

“Sometimes two hearts stop speaking not because the love has ended, but because the pain has become louder than the words they still wish to say.”
