Anupama 24th August 2026 Written Update: Anupama Loses Her Taste Before the Grand Finale
Today’s episode begins with Rahi and Prem performing puja with the Kothari family as the grand finale of the competition approaches. Khyati calls the day extremely important and says that Prem’s hard work, dedication and talent will finally be tested. She remains confident that Prem will emerge victorious.
Prem, however, continues to ignore Vasundhara.
Vasundhara asks Prem to win the competition, but Prem does not respond to her emotionally. Instead, he touches her feet before leaving. The gesture shows that despite everything that has happened, he still respects her as his mother, even though he is deeply hurt by her actions.
Meanwhile, the Shah family is also preparing for the big day. Paritosh keeps checking on Anupama while everyone is busy praying. At one point, Paritosh dramatically falls to the ground while taking blessings. He jokingly asks everyone why they are staring at him as though they have never seen such a devoted fan of God before.
Leela immediately pulls his leg, pointing out that even God’s biggest fan does not normally lie flat on the floor like that.
Anupama laughs and says that Paritosh has frightened everyone.
The family then wishes Anupama luck. Leela feeds her a sweet, and Anupama suddenly notices something strange. She cannot properly taste it.
For a moment, she becomes worried, but she chooses to ignore the feeling.
Anupama continues distributing sweets among everyone and tries to focus on the competition instead of her health. She also notices that Paritosh keeps hovering around her and asks him why he is constantly checking on her.
Paritosh brushes off the question.
Meanwhile, Leela has dressed up especially well for the occasion. When Hasmuk asks why she is so dressed up, Leela confidently says that once Anupama wins, there will be a photo session and she needs to look her best.
The family starts teasing her, with Ishani saying that Leela is already famous and Prerna joking that she may soon become a model. Hasmuk takes the joke further and says that Leela might even start getting advertisements for pain-relief products.
The light-hearted conversation continues, but Paritosh is secretly worried.
He cannot understand why Anupama is behaving normally after eating the food he gave her. He knows what he has done and fears that Gautam may demand his money back if the plan fails.
Paritosh wonders how Anupama can remain so strong.
Elsewhere, Anupama wishes Mahi all the best. She tells Mahi that if she wins the competition, she will give her a share of the prize money. According to Anupama, everyone deserves an opportunity to make a fresh start in life.
Digvijay encourages Anupama and continues supporting her.
At the Kothari house, Vasundhara prays for Prem’s success. Gautam, however, confidently tells her that Prem is already blessed because Anupama will not even reach the competition.
Vasundhara becomes suspicious and asks Gautam what exactly he has planned.
Gautam assures her that he has no intention of kidnapping or physically harming Anupama. He simply wants to make sure that she does not reach the finale.
He cryptically tells Vasundhara that his attack may look like a needle, but its impact will be like a sword. He asks her to wait and watch.
Back with the Shahs, Banku asks about Ansh. Prerna explains that Ansh has gone to Baroda to meet a friend who has met with an accident. Digvijay appreciates the gesture, saying that true friends stand by each other during difficult times.
Leela then asks Anupama to eat breakfast.
This time, Anupama cannot ignore what is happening.
She tastes the food and realizes that she cannot sense anything.
Anupama is stunned.
She tries again, hoping that perhaps something is wrong temporarily, but there is still no taste. Panic begins to take over as she realizes how disastrous this could be for her competition.
For Anupama, cooking is not simply about following a recipe. Her sense of taste is one of the most important tools she has.
Digvijay and Hasmuk immediately decide to take her to a doctor.
Anupama becomes emotional and wonders what will happen if her taste does not return in time. She fears that without being able to taste the food, she cannot judge the flavours properly and may lose everything she has worked so hard for.
Paritosh secretly watches the situation.
Pakhi notices him murmuring to himself and asks what is going on. She becomes suspicious and wonders whether Paritosh has done something.
Paritosh quickly avoids the question.
Meanwhile, Rahi continues encouraging Prem. She tells him that he cannot accept defeat before even trying to win. Prem assures her that he will fight until the very end.
Khyati then informs Rahi and Prem that Parag has called her and wants her to come to him. Rahi and Prem tell her that she can go after the competition, but Khyati remains worried about Prem.
Rahi insists that Prem must win.
The Shah family soon learns that Anupama has gone to the doctor. Everyone becomes anxious about her condition. When Digvijay returns, he explains that there is nothing immediately alarming, but Anupama’s taste may take some time to return.
The news leaves everyone worried.
Pakhi asks how Anupama will participate in the competition without her taste buds.
Banku then raises an important question: what exactly did Anupama eat that could have affected her taste?
Anupama suddenly remembers the snacks brought by Paritosh.
She immediately confronts him.
Anupama asks Paritosh to tell her the truth because her entire career and dream are now at stake. She wants to know exactly what was in the food he gave her.
Paritosh acts innocent and asks why everyone is looking at him as though he has committed a crime. He insists that the snacks came from his friend and claims that he would never deliberately harm Anupama because he is supporting her.
Anupama refuses to accept his explanation so easily.
She makes it clear that if he knows anything, he must tell her immediately because she cannot afford to waste time.
Hasmuk eventually asks Anupama to stop focusing on Paritosh and think about finding another solution. Prerna and Kinjal also assure her that they will support her no matter what happens.
The entire Shah family stands behind Anupama.
But Anupama feels completely broken.
She compares her situation to a painter losing his eyesight. If a painter cannot see colours, how can he create a painting? In the same way, she feels that if she cannot taste the food, she cannot compete at the level she expects from herself.
Anupama finally decides to withdraw from the competition.
The decision leaves everyone stunned.
Paritosh, however, secretly becomes happy.
For him, the plan appears to have worked.
The episode ends with Anupama believing that without her sense of taste, she has no chance of winning the competition.
Review
This episode gives Anupama’s competition track a much-needed personal crisis. The loss of her taste buds is not treated as just another obstacle; it directly attacks the one ability Anupama considers her biggest strength. That makes her decision to withdraw emotionally understandable, even though it is frustrating to watch her give up so quickly.
The strongest part of the episode is the contrast between Anupama’s vulnerability and Paritosh’s secret satisfaction. Anupama is genuinely worried that her dream is slipping away, while someone from her own family is quietly celebrating her setback. That betrayal adds considerably more weight to the track than the competition itself.
Prem’s reaction to Vasundhara also continues to work well. He may still respect his mother, but the emotional distance between them is becoming impossible to ignore. Vasundhara wanted to protect Prem’s chances, yet her attempt to control the competition has only made him question whether she truly believes in his talent.
And then there is Gautam, who is clearly playing a bigger game than everyone currently understands. His confidence that Anupama will never reach the finale makes the precap especially interesting. The judges are waiting, the clock is ticking, and Anupama has already decided to quit. At this point, getting her to the venue may be harder than winning the actual competition.
