Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 24th August 2026 Written Update: Armaan Hides His Fight as Poddars Lose Janmashtami Celebration
Today’s episode begins with Armaan trying to brush aside questions about his injury. Madhav notices that something is wrong and asks him about it. Armaan casually says that he simply fell down and got hurt. Madhav, however, is not convinced. As a former inspector, he knows the difference between an accidental injury and the marks left after someone has been hit.
Armaan avoids giving him a proper explanation and eventually leaves.
Kaveri and Vidya also question Armaan about what happened, but his irritation makes it clear that he does not want to discuss the incident. Whatever happened at the firefly festival is still being kept away from the family.
Meanwhile, Myra and Mukti apologise to Abhira for hiding things from her. Abhira eventually forgives them, although she does not let them off without a little teasing. She asks whether they have sent their rakhis to Daksh and Abhir.
Myra and Mukti pull Abhira’s leg, and Abhira responds by playfully pulling their ears.
The family then comes together to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.
Armaan receives his rakhis, and Abhira points out that Kiara has sent two rakhis as she does every year—one from Kiara’s side and another from Charu’s side. Myra asks Armaan whether she and Mukti can tie the rakhis on behalf of Kiara and Charu.
Armaan agrees and participates in the celebration.
Krish also asks Myra and Mukti to tie rakhis to him on behalf of Kiara and Charu. The festive atmosphere brings some warmth to the Poddar house.
Elsewhere, Kabir waits for his sister.
Nandani comforts him and says that one day his sister will return, and they will celebrate Raksha Bandhan together. Nandani then ties a rakhi to Samar, who blesses her.
Madhav also shares an emotional moment with Kajal. He asks her to accept the money he has brought for her. Kajal initially refuses, but Madhav tells her that while he may not be able to give her an expensive gift like Manoj, he will still feel hurt if she refuses even the small amount of ₹501.
Kajal becomes emotional.
Myra and Mukti then tie rakhis to each other, adding another sweet moment to the celebrations.
However, the festive mood soon gives way to another important discussion.
Kaveri informs everyone that Vipin and the other trust members are coming to discuss the upcoming Janmashtami celebrations. Kaveri is excited because she has already been looking forward to organizing the festival.
When Vipin arrives, he praises Kaveri for taking care of Bal Krishna and keeping the idol safe. Kaveri says that ultimately God protects them all.
Abhira adds that Kaveri personally painted the idol, which makes Kaveri even more excited about the upcoming celebrations.
Kaveri clearly has her heart set on organizing Janmashtami this year.
But Vipin brings unexpected news.
He tells Kaveri that the Poddars will not be getting the opportunity to organize Janmashtami this year. Some people are unhappy about the Poddars getting the opportunity repeatedly and want another family to take charge.
Kaveri is disappointed, but she refuses to let the decision completely break her spirit. She says that the opportunity itself is a blessing and accepts the decision gracefully.
Meanwhile, Bhairavi praises Kabir for successfully marketing their new pickle product. She says Kabir has talent and reminds everyone that he is just like her.
Samar admits that he was initially against launching another product in the market, but Kabir’s efforts have convinced him.
The family now needs to decide when and where to launch the pickle.
Bhairavi immediately has an idea.
She suggests launching the product on Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
Back with Myra and Mukti, Myra shows her pictures from the firefly festival. She tells Mukti about how much fun she had with her friends.
Mukti, however, seems hesitant to ask Myra to join her for pinball. Myra quickly notices that something is bothering her.
She comforts Mukti and tells her that even though she may have many friends, Mukti will always remain her “bro.”
Mukti is reassured by Myra’s words.
Meanwhile, the Poddars begin preparing for Janmashtami, with Kaveri remaining excited despite the earlier disappointment.
But their hopes are once again interrupted when the trust members reveal the final decision.
This year, the Damanis will be organizing Janmashtami instead of the Poddars.
The announcement shocks Kaveri and the entire Poddar family.
Kaveri had been looking forward to the celebration, and losing the opportunity is clearly difficult for her. The decision also sets up another point of tension between the Poddars and the Damanis.
The episode ends with the Poddars absorbing the unexpected news.
Review
The episode keeps the family drama fairly balanced, with Raksha Bandhan providing some warmth before the Janmashtami track introduces a fresh conflict. The Raksha Bandhan moments work because they are simple and emotional rather than being stretched into unnecessary drama.
Armaan’s unexplained injury is also an interesting little thread. Madhav may have accepted Armaan’s silence for now, but the former inspector clearly isn’t buying the “I fell down” story. Armaan may want to bury what happened at the firefly festival, but unfortunately for him, Madhav comes with built-in detective software.
Kaveri’s disappointment over losing the Janmashtami opportunity also gives the upcoming track a nice emotional foundation. She was genuinely excited about organizing the celebration, so seeing another family take over is bound to sting. At the same time, Kabir’s pickle launch being connected to Janmashtami creates an interesting parallel between the two families.
The Myra-Kabir angle remains quietly active as well. Myra suddenly wanting to learn Krishna’s stories and songs just to prove something to Kabir is exactly the kind of thing that tells us she is more affected by him than she wants to admit. She may call it competition, but the motivation is doing a little more talking than she is.
Rating: 4/5
“Sometimes, you don’t realise how much someone has affected you until you start changing just to prove something to them.”
