Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 25th August 2026 Written Update: Damanis Take Over Janmashtami, Poddars Face a New Challenge
The episode begins with Bhairvi blindfolding herself and refusing to eat. Nandani asks her to have something, but Bhairvi says she will not eat until God gives her an answer. Just then, Raghav and Samar reveal that the trust has given the Damanis the opportunity to organize this year’s Janmashtami celebration.
Bhairvi is surprised that the trust agreed so easily. She wonders whether they did something wrong to get the opportunity. Raghav assures her that they would never do anything wrong in the name of God. Samar adds that Raghav simply convinced the trust members calmly. Bhairvi then becomes determined to make the celebration grand enough to replace the Poddars.
However, Raghav reminds everyone that they will have to follow the rules laid down by the trust for the religious celebration.
At the same time, Armaan questions the trust members about their decision to allow the Damanis to organize Janmashtami. The trust explains that people had started questioning why the Poddars were given the responsibility every year. They felt it was only fair to give someone else an opportunity this time.
The decision clearly does not sit well with the Poddars.
Raghav asks Nandani to begin preparations according to the trust’s rules. Nandani wonders whether the Poddars have been informed. Raghav tells her not to worry about them and instead focus on the preparations, especially because the entire city is expected to attend the celebration.
Armaan and Abhira become furious after learning about the development. Vidya accuses the Damanis of cheating, while Sanjay believes they are simply taking revenge. Manoj points out that Armaan and Abhira had previously fought a case against the Damanis, so this could easily be their way of retaliating.
Armaan agrees with him.
Abhira, however, wonders whether the Damanis could also be planning to use the religious event to launch their new product. Armaan asks her to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Meanwhile, Kaveri is heartbroken. She asks God why He has taken away the opportunity she has cherished for so long. She breaks down over losing the chance to organize Janmashtami.
Mukti suggests that Myra should speak to Kaveri and cheer her up.
But Myra receives a call from Kabir.
Mukti notices this and assumes that Myra is ignoring Kaveri because of Kabir. Myra ends up arguing with Kabir, blaming him and his family for hurting Kaveri. She tells him that his family does not understand how important this festival and its traditions are to Kaveri.
Kabir tries to defend his family and insists that they have done nothing wrong.
The argument between the two continues as neither is willing to back down.
Later, Abhira and Armaan meet Nandani and Raghav. Abhira directly confronts them for taking away the Poddars’ opportunity to organize the festival.
Raghav openly admits that they are also planning to launch their new product around the event.
Abhira questions whether they are using Janmashtami as a business opportunity.
Nandani and Raghav defend their decision, refusing to accept that they are doing anything inappropriate.
Abhira tries to make them understand that Janmashtami is not merely an event for the Poddars. It holds deep emotional and religious significance for Kaveri.
Instead of continuing the argument, Nandani comes up with another idea.
She invites the Poddars to attend the Janmashtami celebration at their venue.
The invitation leaves the situation even more complicated.
Kaveri, meanwhile, decides that she will organize a separate celebration at the Poddar house. She feels happy that their Bal Krishna idol is still with them and believes that she can celebrate the festival with her family regardless of what the Damanis are doing.
Abhira worries about her.
She asks Kaveri whether she will feel hurt if most people choose to attend the Damanis’ celebration instead of coming to the Poddar house.
Kaveri refuses to let that possibility affect her. She says she is organizing the celebration for Armaan and her family, and that is enough reason for her to continue.
Elsewhere, Myra continues thinking about Kabir and their argument.
Meanwhile, Armaan and Mukti play badminton together. Mukti soon becomes exhausted, prompting Armaan to tell her that she needs to improve her stamina if she genuinely wants to pursue sports.
He then asks Abhira to stop giving Mukti ice cream and even deletes food-delivery apps from Mukti’s phone.
Armaan then asks Myra to hand over her phone.
Myra gives it to him without any hesitation.
Abhira and Armaan immediately notice the unusual reaction. They wonder whether everything is fine because Myra normally would not surrender her phone so easily.
Later, Madhav notices Abhira awake and asks her why she is still up.
Abhira explains that Manisha asked her to stay because she has something important to tell her.
Manisha then reveals what she heard at the party.
According to her, the Damanis may have received permission to organize Janmashtami, but there is an important condition attached to it. They may only use the idol belonging to the Poddars for the celebration.
Abhira is left shocked by the revelation.
The episode ends with this new piece of information potentially changing the entire Janmashtami battle.
Review
The Janmashtami track is becoming much more interesting because the conflict is no longer simply about who gets to organize the celebration. The Damanis have the venue and the opportunity, while the Poddars still have the idol and the emotional connection to the tradition. Suddenly, neither side has the complete advantage—and that makes the upcoming celebration far more exciting.
Kaveri’s reaction is also one of the stronger emotional portions of the episode. She isn’t upset merely because another family got an event. For her, Janmashtami is tied to years of faith, memories and family tradition. Her decision to celebrate regardless of who attends shows that she isn’t ready to let the Damanis decide what the festival means to her.
The Myra-Kabir angle quietly continues to develop in the background. Myra’s sudden determination to learn about Lord Krishna clearly has more to do with Kabir than she wants anyone to know. And the fact that she hands her phone to Armaan without hesitation is enough to make even the most relaxed parent suspicious. When a teenager suddenly becomes unusually cooperative, that’s usually not innocence—it is a plot twist wearing a very innocent face.
The biggest question now is what happens once both families reach Janmashtami. The Damanis may have won the opportunity, but the Poddars appear to hold something they cannot simply replace. And with Manisha revealing the rule about the idol, the Damanis’ grand plan may already have a very important condition attached to it.
