Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 26th August 2026 Written Update: Abhira Takes Damanis’ Side, Kaveri Leaves the Idol Decision to Armaan
The episode begins with Manisha telling Abhira that the Damanis can conduct the Janmashtami celebrations only if Kaveri’s Lord Krishna idol is handed over to them. Armaan becomes furious and feels that the Damanis are only interested in money and are using the religious celebration to promote their business. He reminds everyone that Kaveri has protected the idol for years and refuses to let the Damanis take it.
Meanwhile, Myra and Abhira enjoy breakfast while Armaan continues coaching Mukti. Mukti wants to have breakfast, but Armaan insists that she complete her running first. Abhira gives Mukti a healthy breakfast, while Myra playfully demands cake, chocolate and kachori.
Myra then bumps into Kabir and immediately becomes angry after remembering that the Damanis have received the opportunity to organize Janmashtami. Kabir says that his family simply received an opportunity, but Myra explains why the celebration is so important to Kaveri.
Myra tells Kabir that years ago, Armaan was unwell and Kaveri vowed to organize the Janmashtami celebration every year after he recovered. She calls Kabir’s family heartless for taking the opportunity away from Kaveri. When Kabir tries to pick up his glasses, Myra deliberately breaks them.
Elsewhere, Raghav asks Madhav to hand over the idol to the Damanis. Madhav reminds him that their families are rivals. Raghav argues that he already ended their animosity by revealing information about the fraud employee and now expects Madhav to end the rivalry by giving him the idol.
Nandani later meets Abhira and asks her to hand over the idol. Abhira refuses, saying that she cannot hurt Kaveri’s feelings. Nandani then puts Abhira in a difficult position by explaining that thousands of people have faith in the idol and that only Abhira can prevent their faith from being hurt. Abhira is left shocked by her words.
Armaan notices that Abhira is disturbed and tries to find out what is bothering her. Abhira eventually walks away.
Meanwhile, Samar meets Barkha and gives her gifts, including a gift from Kabir. He asks her to return home, but Barkha refuses to come back without Neena’s permission. Neena takes Barkha away, but before leaving, Barkha gives Samar a letter.
Armaan later asks Abhira whether she still believes the idol should be given to the Damanis. Abhira says that she does. At the same time, Samar reads Barkha’s letter, in which she asks him to smile more and control his anger. The emotional moment is interrupted when Manoj drives past and splashes dirt onto Samar, leaving him furious.
Armaan becomes angry with Abhira for taking the Damanis’ side and once again refuses to give them the idol. Madhav, however, supports Abhira. Armaan argues that they cannot hurt Kaveri’s religious sentiments.
Abhira explains that the Damanis are not necessarily bad people and may return the idol after the celebration. She says that their personal differences should not be allowed to hurt the faith of thousands of devotees. Manisha and Manoj also agree that the Damanis may not be as bad as everyone believes.
Manisha further explains that Samar dropped them home because their car had broken down.
Armaan and Abhira continue arguing over whether the idol should be given to the Damanis. Seeing the disagreement between them, Kaveri finally asks them to stop fighting. She tells Armaan and Abhira to make the decision themselves and says that whatever decision they take, she will accept it.
The episode ends with the important decision about Lord Krishna’s idol now resting on Armaan and Abhira.

Today’s episode focused strongly on the emotional battle surrounding Kaveri’s beloved Lord Krishna idol. Armaan’s anger is understandable because he feels the Damanis are turning an important religious celebration into a business opportunity. However, Abhira’s point also carries weight—personal rivalry should not come in the way of thousands of people’s faith.
The most interesting conflict was between Armaan and Abhira. Both are trying to protect what they believe is right, but they are looking at the situation from completely different perspectives. Kaveri leaving the final decision to them makes the upcoming twist even more important.
Myra’s track with Kabir also continues to develop. Her anger towards him has clearly affected her, and her sudden interest in Lord Krishna appears to be connected to her desire to prove something to Kabir.
Overall, the episode had a good mix of family drama, religious emotions and the growing tension between the Poddars and Damanis.
