Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 29th August 2026 Written Update: Armaan and Raghav’s Saree Mix-Up, Vidya’s Health Scare
Today’s episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai brings a mix of festive preparations, light-hearted confusion and an unexpected health concern. While Armaan and Abhira get busy preparing for Janmashtami, a saree mix-up creates trouble. Meanwhile, Vidya’s unexplained pain leaves the family worried.
The episode begins with Raghu and Nandani practicing for the upcoming dance performance. However, despite their repeated attempts, they continue making mistakes. Kabir watches Nandani and clicks her pictures. At the same time, Myra helps Abhira and Armaan with their dance practice and asks them to put more energy into their performance. The continuous practice leaves everyone exhausted, with both the couples struggling to keep up.
Sanjay reminds Abhira that she has a conference call with a client in a few minutes. Abhira says she has to leave, while Armaan also admits that he is tired and decides to accompany her. Myra asks Kaveri to stop them because their dance practice is still incomplete.
Kaveri cleverly brings up Abhira’s Janmashtami outfit and asks what she is planning to wear. Abhira casually says she will buy something from the mall. Armaan immediately steps in and says that he will choose a saree for her. Kaveri questions whether Armaan actually knows what will suit his wife. Abhira confidently says that whatever Armaan chooses for her will look good.
Meanwhile, Samar invites Neena and Barkha to the Janmashtami celebration. Neena refuses to attend. Samar explains that this year’s celebration is particularly important because they are also launching a new product. Manoj learns about the tension between Samar and Neena. Neena blames Samar for their separation, saying that his anger issues caused their relationship to fall apart. She refuses to bring Barkha to the house.
Elsewhere, Kabir tells Nandani that Raghav has gone to buy a saree for her. Nandani becomes worried because she doubts whether Raghav actually knows her choice well enough to select the right saree. As fate would have it, Raghav and Armaan reach the same shop at the same time, both determined to find the perfect saree for their wives.
The two men begin comparing their choices and insist on expensive sarees. However, finding something they believe will suit their respective wives proves harder than expected. Armaan finally chooses a pink saree for Abhira, while Raghav picks a green one, though he seems confident about his choice. Armaan questions Raghav about whether he is sure about the saree, but Raghav proudly says that he knows his wife’s preferences.
Back home, Myra tells Abhira about an event at her college where students have to represent the traditional clothing of different states. Abhira suggests that Myra choose Punjab’s Phulkari. She explains the cultural importance of Phulkari and tells Myra about its GI tag. When Myra asks what a GI tag means, Abhira explains that it gives recognition and identity to a particular region for its distinctive products, fabrics or traditional work.
However, the saree shopping soon turns into a hilarious mess. Armaan and Raghav’s sarees accidentally get exchanged. Abhira ends up receiving the green saree, while Nandani gets the pink one. Unlike Nandani, who is delighted with the saree she receives, Abhira does not like the green colour. Yet she decides not to tell Armaan because she does not want to hurt his feelings.
Abhira becomes emotional when she also struggles to find matching jewellery for the saree. Meanwhile, Myra discovers that the sarees have been exchanged and informs Kabir. Kabir realises that Nandani has received Abhira’s saree. Myra insists that he return it immediately, but Kabir says he will arrange the same saree for Nandani and return the other one later. Myra remains adamant, forcing Kabir to struggle to find another identical saree.
At the same time, Abhira seeks help from Kaveri and Manisha in choosing jewellery. Vidya is also present, but suddenly experiences pain in her arms. Abhira immediately notices that something is wrong and becomes concerned.
Kaveri, Manisha and Abhira discuss Vidya’s condition and feel that the pain could be connected to a lump. Vidya insists that she is fine and refuses to see a doctor. Abhira, however, does not let the matter go. She directly asks Vidya whether she is avoiding the doctor because she is afraid that it could be a tumour.
Armaan overhears this and is left shocked. The festive excitement suddenly takes a serious turn as the family begins worrying about Vidya’s health.

Review
This episode nicely balances the festive fun with a more serious family track. The saree exchange gives the episode its lighter moments, especially with Armaan and Raghav confidently shopping for their wives and somehow still managing to get things mixed up. But Vidya’s health scare changes the mood completely. The tumour mention is clearly designed to set up the next emotional track, and Armaan’s shocked reaction makes the upcoming episodes worth watching.
