Yaadein 2nd October 2026 Written Update: Dev Cuts Kallari’s Power as Masaan Baba Turns Against Him

The 2nd October episode of Yaadein brings a major confrontation between Dev and the villagers of Kallari. Dev takes a strong stand against the illegal electricity connections and cuts the wires, leaving the entire village in darkness. His attempt to teach the villagers a lesson takes an unexpected turn when he decides to provide candles for every home.

While some villagers appreciate Dev’s intentions, Johala Chap refuses to accept his gesture and turns the entire village against him. Masaan Baba also recognises Dev as a serious threat and decides that the villagers must maintain their distance from him.

Amid all the tension, Dev and Shristi share a beautiful personal moment that brings some warmth to an otherwise difficult day.

Dev Challenges the Villagers Over Illegal Electricity

The episode begins with Dev telling the villagers that he has pulled out the wires and that they are now free to do whatever they want.

The villagers immediately warn him that Johala Chap will answer him.

Their confidence proves justified.

Johala Chap reconnects the wires, refusing to let Dev’s decision stop them from using electricity.

Shristi tries to take Dev away from the situation, but Malon Ji stops him.

Malon Ji tells Dev that it is time for him to see their celebration.

The lights are switched on, and the villagers begin dancing happily after seeing electricity return to their homes.

Dev watches them and explains the real problem to Shristi.

According to him, the issue is not merely electricity. The bigger problem is the thinking of the villagers.

Dev believes that unless their mindset changes, the same problem will continue to return.

He tells Shristi that they need to change the villagers’ thinking rather than simply solving the immediate electricity problem.

Unknown to Dev, Masaan Baba is watching him closely from a distance.

Masaan Baba Learns About Dev’s Delivery

Masaan Baba soon crosses paths with Mayank, the delivery boy.

He learns that Dev has ordered something and immediately becomes curious.

Masaan Baba asks Mayank to show him what Dev has ordered.

At the same time, Dev takes the cutter from Johala Chap and begins cutting the wires again.

This time, he cuts the illegal connections as well as the wires connected to the Kallari Health Centre.

Malon Ji and Johala Chap are shocked by his actions.

They question Dev about what he is doing.

They point out that he has plunged the entire village into darkness and, in their view, has also brought darkness upon himself.

Dev remains determined to stand by his decision.

He knows that his actions will anger the villagers, but he believes that the illegal connections cannot simply be allowed to continue.

Dev Brings Candles for the Villagers

Mayank eventually arrives with the delivery Dev ordered.

Dev reveals that he ordered candles.

He explains to Mayank and the villagers that the entire village is currently in darkness because of his decision. Since he made the decision to cut the connections, he also wants to make sure that nobody is left completely without light.

Dev begins distributing candles among the villagers.

The gesture surprises everyone.

Dev may have cut their electricity, but he is not abandoning them in the darkness.

Masaan Baba watches the entire scene carefully.

Looking at the candle in his hand, he realises that Dev knows how to work and, more importantly, how to win people’s hearts.

Masaan Baba understands that this makes Dev more dangerous than someone who simply argues with the villagers.

He decides that he needs to be careful around Dev.

Johala Chap Turns the Villagers Against Dev

Johala Chap refuses to accept Dev’s candles.

He throws his candle onto the ground.

The villagers follow his lead.

One by one, they throw their candles down and walk away.

Dev’s attempt to show that he is not against the villagers fails to win them over.

Mallar, though, understands what Dev is trying to do.

He tells Dev that his thinking is right, but changing the village will take time.

Mallar lights a candle himself before leaving.

His small gesture becomes a sign that at least someone is willing to understand Dev’s point of view.

Masaan Baba Declares War on Dev

Masaan Baba then takes a stronger position.

He tells the villagers not to light a diya, lantern or anything else that day.

He wants everyone to remember that Dev is the reason the village has been thrown into darkness.

Mallar questions this hatred.

He asks Masaan Baba why they need to hate Dev so much.

Masaan Baba responds that when facing an opponent, they need to maintain their distance from him.

His words reveal that he is no longer treating Dev as someone who simply has a different opinion.

He now sees Dev as an opponent who needs to be dealt with carefully.

Johala Chap and the others agree with Masaan Baba.

The conflict between Dev and the village is clearly becoming more personal.

Jia Talks About Her Special Friend

Away from the main confrontation, Jia talks to a friend about everything happening in Kallari village.

She is clearly affected by the situation.

Later, she tells the person on the phone that she wishes he were there.

She then ends the call.

Dhruv notices the conversation and asks Jia whom she was speaking to.

Jia simply tells him that she was talking to a special friend.

Her answer leaves the identity of this special person open to curiosity.

Dev Regrets His Decision

Dev later begins feeling guilty about his decision.

Although he believes cutting the illegal electricity connections was necessary, he cannot ignore the fact that the entire village is now sitting in darkness because of his actions.

Dev shares his guilt with Shristi.

He is caught between standing by his principles and worrying about the consequences for the villagers.

The situation becomes even more difficult when the electricity at Dev’s own house goes out.

Malon Ji and Johala Chap make it clear that Dev cannot expect to have electricity when the entire village is without it.

They tell him that he will have to experience the consequences of his own decision.

Dev reacts to their comments.

He asks Jia for the pliers because he wants to deal with the situation.

Jia tells him that the pliers belong to Johala Chap.

Johala Chap refuses to give them to Dev and walks away.

Dev becomes furious.

He vents his frustration to Shristi, who tries to calm him down and asks him to let the matter go.

Dev and Shristi Share a Special Moment

The atmosphere finally becomes softer when Dev notices Shristi sitting in the candlelight.

He becomes mesmerised by her.

Shristi notices Dev staring at her and asks him what happened.

Dev then recalls an incident from their past.

He reminds Shristi of the time when he wanted to take her photograph, but she had refused.

Dev says that he respected her decision at that time.

Now, looking at her again in the candlelight, he feels the same urge.

He asks Shristi if she will allow him to take her photograph this time.

Shristi agrees.

The moment gives Dev some happiness amid all the tension surrounding him.

For a brief moment, the conflict over electricity, the villagers’ anger and Masaan Baba’s plans fade into the background.

The episode ends on this softer note between Dev and Shristi.

Precap: Dev and Shristi Bring Light to the Village

The upcoming episode shows Dev and Shristi lighting a diya together.

As the village continues to struggle with darkness, their small act symbolises their attempt to bring light back into Kallari.

Yaadein 2nd October 2026 Review

This episode does a good job of turning the electricity dispute into something bigger than a simple fight over wires. Dev’s argument is that the villagers’ thinking needs to change, while Johala Chap and Masaan Baba are determined to preserve the existing way of doing things.

The most interesting development is Masaan Baba recognising that Dev can win people over. His concern about Dev is not simply because Dev cuts the illegal connections; it is because Dev also tries to connect with the villagers emotionally by bringing them candles.

Johala Chap throwing the candle away and getting the villagers to follow him shows just how deeply divided the village has become.

Dev’s guilt also adds another layer to his character. He stands by his decision, but he is not completely comfortable with the consequences.

And then comes the Dev-Shristi moment, which provides a much-needed emotional pause. Their conversation about the photograph connects the present to their past without needing a huge dramatic twist.

With Dev and Shristi lighting a diya together in the precap, the battle between darkness and light is becoming both a literal and symbolic part of the story.
