Yaadein 3rd October 2026 Written Update: Dev Uses Diwali Diyas to Teach the Villagers a Lesson
The 3rd October episode of Yaadein brings a clever twist to the ongoing electricity battle in the village. While Malon Ji and Johala Chap celebrate cutting off Dev’s electricity, Dev and Shristi find a way to turn the darkness into an opportunity.
With Diwali approaching, Shristi helps Dev give the villagers a choice between darkness and light. The villagers eventually realise that they would rather celebrate Diwali than remain trapped in a no-moon night. By morning, they even arrive at Dev’s doorstep with offerings, hoping he will restore their electricity.
Mishri and Vandana Make Wishes for the Baby
The episode begins on a lighter note.
Mishri lovingly speaks to the baby in her womb and wishes that the child will grow up to open a big pharmacy.
She says that if the baby becomes successful enough, they will never have to face such problems again.
Vandana has a different idea.
She asks Mishri to tell the baby to become the Energy Minister instead.
According to Vandana, that way the child can provide electricity to everyone.
Mishri agrees and happily passes the message on to her unborn baby.
The conversation brings some humour to the otherwise tense electricity crisis.
Malon Ji Celebrates Dev’s Darkness
Malon Ji and Johala Chap approach the villagers and proudly announce that they have cut off Dev’s electricity.
They point out that Dev is now also living in darkness.
Meena does not appreciate their actions.
She tells Malon Ji that what he has done is wrong.
Malon Ji remains defensive about his decision.
The conflict between Dev and the villagers continues to grow, with both sides refusing to give up.
Dev Remembers Shristi
Dev continues to spend time with Shristi in the candlelight.
He takes a photograph of her.
The moment reminds him of something from their past, and Dev recreates that old moment with Shristi.
Jia notices what is happening.
She immediately starts thinking that Dev and Shristi may eventually come together.
Later, Dev speaks to Shristi about the electricity issue.
He makes one thing very clear.
No matter what happens, he will not allow the villagers to steal electricity from the Kallari Health Centre.
For Dev, the electricity supply to the health centre remains too important to compromise.
Meena Confronts Malon Ji
Meena continues expressing her displeasure over Malon Ji’s actions against Dev.
Malon Ji tells her that instead of giving him advice, she should give it to Dev.
Meena responds in her own way.
She hits Malon Ji and makes it clear that she does not approve of what he has done.
The confrontation leaves Malon Ji dealing with both Dev’s resistance and Meena’s anger.
Masaan Baba Talks About Perception
Masaan Baba approaches Dev and explains that the entire issue is about perception.
He says he wants to make sure that the villagers remember one thing—that Dev is responsible for leaving the entire village in darkness.
He points out that it is a no-moon night, making the darkness even more significant.
Shristi listens carefully.
She suddenly gets an idea.
Shristi thanks Masaan Baba for giving her the thought.
She points out that although it is a no-moon day, it is also Diwali.
She asks Dev to come with her and promises that she will explain everything later.
Shristi takes Dev away.
Masaan Baba immediately becomes suspicious.
He starts wondering what Dev and Shristi are planning.
Masaan Baba Warns the Villagers
Masaan Baba approaches the villagers and tells them to be careful.
He warns them that Dev and Shristi are up to something.
But Dev and Shristi are already preparing their plan.
They decide to use the symbolism of Diwali to change the way the villagers see the darkness.
Dev and Shristi Bring Diyas
Shristi, Dev, Jia and Dhruv bring diyas for the villagers.
Dev is unsure about the plan.
He asks Shristi what good the diyas will do.
He points out that the villagers could simply blow them out.
Shristi has already thought about that possibility.
She tells Dev that this time they will give the villagers a choice.
If the villagers choose darkness, it will be their own decision.
They will no longer be able to blame Dev for it.
Dev agrees with her.
The plan is simple but powerful.
The Diyas Become Symbols of Hope
Masaan Baba arrives and asks Dev and Shristi whether this is another drama.
He then tells the villagers to blow out the diyas.
Shristi immediately stops them.
She says that she is holding her diya in the name of happiness.
Jia says that her diya represents hope.
Dhruv holds his diya in the name of love.
Dev then says that his diya represents forgiveness.
The meaning behind the diyas begins affecting the villagers.
Masaan Baba again tells everyone to blow them out.
But the villagers hesitate.
Mishri says she cannot blow out her diya because it represents hope.
Vandana says she cannot extinguish hers because it represents happiness.
Malon Ji also refuses to blow out the diya because it represents love.
Meena then tells Masaan Baba that the villagers cannot bring themselves to blow out the diyas.
The Villagers Choose Diwali
One by one, the villagers begin taking a stand.
They tell Masaan Baba that if they have to choose between celebrating Diwali and remaining trapped in a no-moon night, they will choose Diwali.
The villagers realise that the light means more to them than they had admitted.
Dev then puts Masaan Baba in an awkward position.
He asks him to take a diya.
Dev tells him that if Masaan Baba truly wants nothing good to happen in the village, then he should refuse the light.
Masaan Baba eventually takes a diya.
The villagers have effectively chosen light.
The Villagers Offer Dev a Bribe
The next morning, the villagers arrive at Dev’s doorstep.
They bring whatever they have with them.
They openly describe it as a bribe.
They request Dev to restore their electricity.
Dev refuses.
The villagers are shocked that their offerings are not enough to convince him.
Shristi then turns the situation into another lesson.
She tells the villagers that they should simply tell the baby in Mishri’s womb that stealing electricity is right and that giving a bribe afterward is also right.
She tells them to say it one by one.
Dev agrees with her.
He says that if they are willing to teach the unborn baby that stealing electricity and bribing people is acceptable, he will restore their electricity.
The villagers are left uncomfortable by the suggestion.
Johala Chap Finds Himself in a Dilemma
Johala Chap says that he will go first.
He prepares to speak to Mishri’s unborn baby.
But Mishri immediately warns him to think carefully about what he is about to say.
She reminds him that she has only taught good things to her baby.
Johala Chap suddenly finds himself stuck.
He has to choose between justifying his actions and admitting that what he has done is wrong.
The episode ends with Johala Chap caught in this dilemma.
Precap: Dev Faces a New Challenge
The upcoming episode introduces another major problem.
The Minister arrives to meet Dev and asks him to leave the Kallari Health Centre.
After fighting the villagers over electricity, Dev now appears to face pressure from an even higher authority.
Yaadein 3rd October 2026 Review
This episode takes the electricity conflict in a surprisingly symbolic direction.
The diya sequence is the highlight. Shristi understands that simply arguing with the villagers will not change their thinking, so she gives them something they cannot easily reject—their own choice.
Hope, happiness, love and forgiveness become more powerful than the darkness itself. Even the villagers who were supporting Malon Ji and Johala Chap eventually admit that they would rather have Diwali than willingly remain in darkness.
Dev’s little challenge to Masaan Baba is also amusing. Asking him to take a diya if he truly wants nothing good for the village puts him in a rather awkward corner.
The morning sequence adds some comedy too, with the villagers openly arriving with “bribes” and Dev refusing to accept them. Shristi’s idea of making them explain their actions to Mishri’s unborn baby is clever because suddenly their behaviour sounds much worse when they imagine teaching it to a child.
Johala Chap’s hesitation at the end is exactly the reaction the plan was designed to create.
The only concern is that Dev’s electricity battle is far from over. The Minister’s arrival in the precap suggests that the next challenge may be much bigger than anything Malon Ji and Masaan Baba have thrown at him so far.
