Yaadein 9th October 2026 Written Update: Dev and Shristi Challenge Village Traditions as Masaan Baba Orders Them to Leave

The 9th October episode of Yaadein brings another confrontation between Dev and the rigid traditions of Kallari village. While Mallar tries to get Jia’s phone number through Srijha, the bigger conflict unfolds at the Kallari Health Centre when Shristi attempts to help Aarti with her menstrual health. What begins as a simple medical consultation soon turns into a battle over a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body.

By the end of the episode, Masaan Baba once again turns the villagers against Dev and his family, declaring that it is God’s decision for them to leave Kallari.

Mallar Tries to Get Jia’s Number

The episode begins with Mallar asking Srijha to help him get Jia’s phone number.

Srijha agrees to help him.

Later, Srijha finds Jia in the kitchen and casually starts a conversation with her. She comes up with an excuse to ask Jia for her phone number.

Jia does not suspect anything and gives Srijha her number.

After leaving Dev’s house, Srijha meets Mallar and hands over Jia’s number. Mallar thanks her and immediately calls.

But there is an unexpected problem.

Mallar realizes that Dev has answered the call.

He quickly informs Srijha about what has happened.

Jia then approaches Mallar and makes it clear that she had already figured out what he was trying to do. She tells him that she knew he would send Srijha to get her phone number.

Jia makes a few pointed comments about Mallar before leaving, making it clear that she is not as unaware of his intentions as he may have assumed.

A Strange Man Arrives at the Health Centre

The next morning, an unusual incident takes place at the Kallari Health Centre.

A man arrives and asks Dev for alcohol.

He claims that Mallar sent him and promises that he was told he would receive alcohol if he got his name registered at the health centre.

Dev is clearly unimpressed by the strange request.

He questions the man and eventually sends him away.

The incident is unusual, but Dev soon has a much more serious matter to deal with.

Aarti Opens Up About Her Menstrual Health

Suhasini later arrives at the Kallari Health Centre with her relative Aarti.

Aarti asks Shristi to send Dev outside because she wants to discuss a personal matter.

Dev agrees and leaves.

Aarti then tells Shristi that she has not had her period for the past ten days.

Shristi asks whether there is a possibility that Aarti could be pregnant.

Aarti immediately says that pregnancy is impossible.

Shristi then begins asking about Aarti’s menstrual hygiene. She asks what kind of menstrual pad she normally uses.

Aarti reveals that she uses an old piece of cloth during her periods.

Shristi advises her to use a clean and hygienic cloth if she is unable to use sanitary pads. She explains that they need to conduct some tests before deciding what medication would be appropriate for her.

Aarti becomes uncomfortable.

She refuses to undergo the tests because she is afraid that people will discover the reason she has come to the health centre.

Rather than continue the consultation, Aarti leaves.

The situation soon becomes bigger than a private medical issue.

The Villagers Try to Stop Aarti From Getting Treatment

Jokhala Chapa approaches Pushkar and complains that Suhasini has taken Aarti to the Kallari Health Centre.

Pushkar and the villagers decide that they will not allow Aarti’s name to be entered into the register.

They head towards the health centre together.

The atmosphere quickly becomes tense.

Shristi approaches Aarti and the other women and tries to explain the seriousness of the situation. She tells Aarti that if she does not receive proper treatment, an infection could spread and cause further health complications.

Aarti still refuses.

When the other women question Shristi about what she is discussing, she makes it clear that she is talking about Aarti’s menstrual health.

Shristi encourages Aarti to seek medical attention instead of allowing fear and social pressure to prevent her from getting treatment.

But the women are not willing to listen.

Meena and the others insist that Aarti will not receive treatment.

Suhasini tries to convince Aarti to accept the medical care she needs.

Shristi then makes an important point.

She says that Aarti herself has the right to decide whether she wants treatment.

Nobody else should be making that decision for her.

Dev arrives and supports Shristi completely.

He reiterates that the decision belongs to Aarti. If she wants treatment, she has every right to receive it.

Dev Confronts the Village’s Cruel Tradition

Masaan Baba is not happy with Dev’s interference.

He questions Dev’s actions and warns him not to go against the traditions of the village.

Dev refuses to back down.

The situation becomes even more disturbing when another woman expresses a desire to speak openly about her own health problems.

Her husband immediately slaps her.

Dev is shocked by what he sees.

He grabs the man by the collar and confronts him.

The husband shows no remorse. Instead, he claims that he has the right to hit his wife if she goes against their traditions.

He also warns Dev not to interfere in their matters.

Dev refuses to accept such behaviour.

He confronts the man once again before leaving the health centre with Shristi.

The incident highlights exactly why Dev and Shristi are struggling to work within Kallari. They are trying to provide basic medical care and encourage people to speak about their health, while the village elders continue using tradition as a reason to control those decisions.

Masaan Baba Turns Against Dev Again

After Dev leaves, Masaan Baba questions Pushkar about what has happened.

He asks why Suhasini brought Aarti to the health centre when everyone had already taken an oath that nobody would visit the hospital.

Pushkar explains that Suhasini did not know about the oath.

Masaan Baba listens to his explanation but does not soften his position.

Instead, he makes a dramatic declaration.

He claims that it is God’s decision that Dev and his family should leave Kallari village.

Once again, Masaan Baba uses faith and tradition to strengthen his position against Dev.

But Srijha refuses to remain silent.

Srijha Challenges Masaan Baba

Srijha directly challenges Masaan Baba.

She questions his claim and comments on the statement he has made about God wanting Dev and his family to leave the village.

Rather than backing down, Masaan Baba accepts the challenge.

He agrees to prove what he has claimed.

The episode ends with this new confrontation hanging over the family.

Dev and Shristi have once again stood up for medical awareness and individual choice, but their actions have placed them directly against the powerful forces controlling the village.

Yaadein Precap

In the precap, Shristi gets injured.

The upcoming episode is likely to take the ongoing conflict between Dev’s family and the villagers to another level.

Review

This episode gives Yaadein one of its stronger social tracks.

Shristi’s conversation with Aarti is important because the issue is not simply about menstrual health. It is about whether a woman gets to make decisions about her own body without fear of gossip, shame or family pressure. Shristi makes that point clearly, and Dev backing her up strengthens the message.

The moment when the husband slaps his wife is particularly disturbing because it shows just how deeply the village’s so-called traditions have become tied to control. Dev grabbing him by the collar is an angry reaction, but it also shows that he has reached the point where he simply cannot watch such behaviour silently.

Masaan Baba, naturally, turns the entire situation into another battle against Dev. His declaration that God wants Dev and his family out of Kallari raises the stakes yet again.

Srijha challenging him at the end is a nice touch because she refuses to let his authority go unquestioned.

The Mallar-Jia subplot is lighter compared with the main story, but Jia clearly knows more than Mallar expected, and her reaction suggests he may have underestimated her.

The real question now is what Masaan Baba means when he says he can prove his claim — and what price Shristi will pay after getting injured.
