Sharmaji Namkeen to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 31st March 2022

Sharmaji Namkeen to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 31st March 2022 Sharmaji Namkeen marks the last film of the late actor Rishi Kapoor before he succumbed to leukemia. He had shot half of the film when he got diagnosed with cancer and had to leave for his treatment. This film is a comedy-drama revolving around a retired person who goes crazy post his retirement. The other half of the film is shot by versatile actor Paresh Rawal after the untimely death of Rishi Kapoor. It will be the first time in the history of Bollywood cinema that the audience will get to see two actors portray the same role.

The trailer is interesting and engaging as it tells a real story of a retired person who wants to remain active by doing what he likes after retirement but is stopped by his kids due to the fear of embarrassment. B. G. Sharma aka Sharmaji wants to open his small restaurant as he loves cooking but doesn’t get support from his sons. He resolves to pursue his dreams without any support after he becomes famous when he cooks food for a female kitty party. Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal look magical onscreen given their great acting skills. Juhi Chawla is seen as a lady from the kitty party group who appreciates Sharmaji’s talent and motivates him to cook.

Rishi Kapoor’s son and superstar Ranbir Kapoor along with his mother and actress Neetu Kapoor were left in tears after watching Rishi’s last film at the special screening held by the makers for them. When the makers were in a fix to complete the film it was Ranbir Kapoor who had volunteered to play his father’s part with a prosthesis but it didn’t work out. But when multitalented actor Paresh Rawal agreed to play the part he was profusely thanked by Ranbir Kapoor. The film’s music like Ye Luthrey, Laal Tamatar, Boom Boom, and Aaram Karo are sweet-sounding and catchy.

According to the speculations actors Suhail Nayyar (Udta Punjab), Isha Talwar (Article 15), Sheeba Chaddha (Gully Boy), Ayesha Raza Mishra (Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety), Satish Kaushik (Scam 1992), Parmeet Sethi (Rustom) and Taaruk Raina (Mismatched) will also be a part of this film. The movie is directed by Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Honey Trehan, and Abhishek Chaubey. Sharmaji Namkeen is a tribute to the late actor and superstar of the ’70s era Rishi Kapoor and will certainly prove entertaining to his fans.
