“I Felt the Guilt Too” – Rohit Purohit on Armaan’s Painful Journey in YRKKH

“I Felt the Guilt Too” – Rohit Purohit on Armaan’s Painful Journey in YRKKH. In a candid moment of reflection, Armaan’s character on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai finally gets a mirror held up to him — and what he sees is not pretty.

Armaan believed that Abhira must have moved on. That she must be living a successful life, probably a big lawyer by now. In his mind, her world was perfect — unlike his, where he was suffering alone with Myra. He assumed everyone was doing well because, during Krish’s engagement, the family looked happy together.

But the truth hit him like a thunderbolt.

Myra reveals to Armaan that Abhira, Vidya, and the rest are not living in luxury but are instead crammed into a small house, barely surviving. No lavish mansion, no help, no support — just three women, abandoned. That’s when guilt begins to creep into Armaan’s heart.

To make matters worse, he learns that his mother Vidya is in urgent need of eye surgery and the only person she remembered in her darkest hour was… him. Despite him being absent for seven years, it was his name she called first. That broke him.

Armaan realizes just how much he missed, and how deep his silence cut the people who loved him most.

When asked about the backlash from fans, Rohit Purohit (Armaan) admits it was justified. Fans were disappointed, even hurt, seeing a character like Armaan — mature, caring, emotionally supportive — suddenly abandon Abhira and take Myra away without a word. Many couldn’t digest it. And honestly, neither could Rohit.

He agrees that it felt out of character, but defends it as a part of the larger narrative — sometimes characters are sacrificed to move a story forward. He hints that Armaan’s psychological stress and frustrations with the Poddar family drama played a part in his rash decision. He thought removing his daughter from that toxic environment was the only option, even if it meant hurting Abhira.

But now, Armaan is back. With guilt. With realizations. With the burning need to set things right.

Rohit assures viewers that the makers know what they’re doing. They understand the emotional pulse of the audience and are working toward a redemptive arc for Armaan — but it will take time.

Rohit also opened up about how warmly he connects with kids on the set — especially with the young actors like Myra and the viral clip of little Daksh running into his arms. He shares that being around kids brings a lightness and innocence to the atmosphere, and that joy is contagious.

In his final note to fans, Rohit says: You all want Armaan and Abhira to reunite — and the way the story is shaping up, it may just happen. Armaan made a terrible mistake. He left. He took Myra. He didn’t look back. But now, he wants to fix it. And maybe, Abhira will give him the chance.
